ASA Recruitment are looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer (Production Systems) for a position within the ever expanding and exciting Energy Sector.
Your new role
Work under the supervision of senior engineers to ensure that project discipline engineering activities are executed within budget and schedule, while maintaining technical integrity.
You will be responsible for
· Responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
· Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations.
· Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the MoC Process.
· Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.
· Carry out site surveys when necessary.
· Assist the Lead Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.
· Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope.
Experience
· Experience performing studies, equipment selection reviews, specification, technical bid evaluations and package management of equipment packages in an EPC environment or client role is preferred.
· Knowledge of static, package or rotating equipment is essential and to be demonstrable. Typical equipment to be experienced within the role include; pumps, heat ex changers, power generation gas compression, vessels, tanks, chemical injection, pig traps, cranes, mechanical handling equipment and process conditioning packages.
· We would prefer a strong knowledge of the offshore and onshore gas business but similar transferable industries skills will be also considered in leu of specific O&G experience.
· Understanding of CE/ATEX and UKCA certification of equipment is essential.
· Experience specifying mechanical package equipment, producing mechanical purchase specifications, data sheets and SDRL’s. Evaluate, select and procure replacement and/or upgrades to equipment.
· Knowledge of IT Packages such as Finglow, PV Elite, HTRI would be an advantage, but not essential. Knowledge of Microsoft packages and Mathcad is essential.
What you’ll need to succeed
· BSc or equivalent in relevant Engineering Discipline (Preferred, if not available demonstrable experience required)
· Chartered Engineer status (Preferred)
· Significant, demonstrable experience in Detailed Design Engineering and Engineering Checking (Preferred)
· Detailed understanding of all Engineering disciplines (Preferred)
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant Energy and Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards (Preferred)
· Excellent written and spoken English (Mandatory)
· Survival BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS (Preferred)
· Exposure to people management (Preferred)
· Understand the application of Autodesk Design products (Preferred)
