Are you an experienced User Researcher looking for a new opportunity in the public sector? Then this is the role for you

ASA Recruitment are looking for a Senior User Researcher for one of our major public sector clients who is capable of designing, planning and carrying out a range of research activities involving diverse users, with the aim of helping teams get a deeper understanding of the people affected by the organisations services

In this role you will be responsible for:
o Planning and executing field and lab based user research according to the business and project needs
o Advising on choice and application of appropriate user research methods and tools to assure best practice and ensure research findings are robust and suited to the overall aims and objectives of the project
o Facilitating the inclusion of different types of users in appropriate research activities
o Supporting teams to continually improve their understanding and engagement with users
o Providing actionable insights to support design decision making
o Advocating for accessibility, assisted digital, and inclusive design practices and help teams design and deliver accessible services that work for all users

To be successful in this role you will need:
o Significant experience of conducting user research
o Experience leading on the design and delivery of a wide range of inclusive user-centred design research including:
· Negotiating/ agreeing research proposals
· Delivering relevant research activity, including recruitment of participants and running user research sessions
· Delivering actionable insights from user research
o Experience of working in an User Centred Design setting and Agile working practices
o Choosing and applying appropriate user- centred design research methods such as: desk research, qualitative research, survey design, data analytics, usability testing and accessibility testing.

This role offers a secure 6 month contract, with the potential to extend, working 37 hours a week for a large organisation within the public sector in Scotland’s Central Belt
