Your new role

You will act as crucial support to the business within the Financial Policy and Services Department and contribute towards the provision of a high quality service to the department’s customers.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for:

• Preparation of documents for year end and reviewing year end returns from establishments
• Administration and monitoring of the Accounts Payable ledger
• Monitoring the mailbox, distributing supplier invoices and assisting with supplier related queries
• Completing month end reconciliations
• End to end Accounts Payable processing
• Assisting the rest of the team with ad hoc duties

What you’ll need to succeed

• A financial qualification or be working towards this e.g. AAT, CAT
• 5 Standard Grades (including English and Maths/Arithmetic) at Grade 3 or above or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications or relevant experience
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and able to demonstrate advanced Excel skills
• Excellent numeracy skills
• Experience working in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger capacity
• Experience working in a housing association
