The Purchasing Assistant Role:

• Leading on a number of procurement projects and supporting the development of specifications for goods and services
• Providing guidance and support to a close knit established team throughout the procurement processes..
• Working with stakeholders and facilitating user requirements for a range of contracts and upcoming tenders
• Contributing to procurement reviews and the implementation of potential new procurement strategies.
• Publish tender documents on e-Tendering and advertising system

Successful candidates for Purchasing Assistant post will need:

• Must be a member, or working towards becoming a member, of the CIPS
• Strong knowledge and previous experience of public sector procurement would be highly advantageous
• Be able to respond positively to changing and emerging requirements within the business and new tenders and opportunities arrive and be able to offer to support their team in doing the same
• A Solid understanding of the strategic procurement process including procurement strategies, sourcing and tendering, supplier management and negotiation
