Information Governance Practitioner

ASA Recruitment’s well-known public sector client is looking for an experienced Information Governance Practitioner to provide comprehensive professional Information Governance Practitioner support to the Information Governance & Security Lead / Data Protection Officer, driving compliance with information governance legislation, policies and standards.

Duties include:
· Working with the Information Governance & Security Lead / Data Protection Officer in driving compliance with Information Governance legislation, standards and policies
· Provide professional, appropriate and effective Information Governance Practitioner support to Directorates re Data Protection and GDPR (includes supporting the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments, Data Sharing Agreements and Data Processing Agreements)
· Provision of expert support in the day-to-day operational requirements of Information Governance across all Directorates
· To support Directorates projects, ensuring that the appropriate information governance legislative requirements are considered and associated risks are adequately mitigated

Requirements include:
· Substantial experience of information governance within a complex environment
· Experience of developing and implementing policy and monitoring and reporting on compliance
· Experience of appropriate risk assessment and treatment methodologies
· Experience of data analysis
· Highly effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, using tact, diplomacy, negotiating and influencing
· Senior-practitioner level knowledge and understanding of the Data Protection Act 1998/The General Data Protection Act 2016
