Acute Physiotherapists assist patients with physical difficulties as a consequence of illness or injury to increase and maintain their movement. The rapid implementation of this service to inpatients is vital to the prevention of any further degeneration of the patient’s circumstances and encouraging a significant recovery. Our NHS client is seeking a Band 6 locum physiotherapist who is passionate this about improving the well-being of elderly in-patients in Kirkcaldy across a three month (minimum) placement.

Our client’s desired Band 6 locum Physiotherapist will have prior experience working within in-patients and have a good understanding of efficient hospital discharge planning. The successful locum Physiotherapist will be predominantly working with older adults and the elderly who may have endured a fall and acquired an injury from this such as a fracture or sprain.

The Band 6 Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing appropriate treatment to the patients who have been admitted to an acute medical ward with the aim of supporting timely discharge to their Kirkcaldy homes. On the lead up to discharge, you will assess the patients’ longer term rehabilitation potential in order to set realistic person-centred goals and referring to community based services to support this where required.

In order to be considered for the role of Band 6 locum Physiotherapist in Kirkcaldy you must:

· Have a professional qualification in Physiotherapy
· Be HCPC registered
· Work experience in in-patients in a hospital setting at Band 6 level
· Be a member of the PVG scheme and be willing to undertake an update
· Be available ASAP on a full-time basis for three months minimum
