Management Accountant

Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic Management Accountant for a career development opportunity with our large public sector client in Edinburgh.

This role will suit you if you a’re a recent graduate starting out in your Accountancy career.

Located in the Gyle area of west Edinburgh, the role is full time, Monday to Friday, and is expected to last a minimum of six months.

Responsibilities:

· Provide specialist financial knowledge, professional advice and financial guidance to staff members
· Detailed analysis of intricate financial trends involving many streams of data, forecasting of strategic and operational financial expenditure using a wide range of data and scenarios including the design and formulation of complicated Excel spreadsheets
· Develop and advise on multi-faceted business plans including drawing up financial analysis, scenarios and sensitivity analysis
· Produce and distribute regular monthly and ad hoc budgetary performance reports
· Develop and maintain systems to ensure that financial information is captured accurately to sustain a variety of financial summaries
· Liaise with budget holders and relevant finance and administrative staff
· Project planning the delivery of financial streams of work that span several months/years to ensure no target/deadline is missed
· Delivery of financial training to non-finance staff
· Co-ordinate and plan the activities of other finance staff in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Head of Finance

Requirements:

· You will be a proactive and dynamic team player
· A CCAB qualification (or to be a finalist)
· Demonstrable experience of working in a financial setting and managing of financial processes and concepts
· High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
· Ability to translate complex financial issues into non-financial terms
· High level of technical financial skills and knowledge
· High level of IT literacy with knowledge of varied financial systems and MS Office packages
· Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
· Knowledge of regulations regarding VAT and ensuring optimal VAT recovery
