Are you an experienced Project Engineer?

An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Project Engineer to join my prestigious client in the Glasgow area.

As the Project Engineer you will be working within a highly technical and creative environment and have a key role in contributing innovative solutions on a wide range of challenging projects. We are looking for an outstanding Project Engineer with strong AutoCAD Inventor experience.

What the job looks like:

• Responsible for assisting the Project Managers to manage projects and contracts in a safe and productive manner – working in, and with the support of, the Engineering Team, this position participates in, reviews and completes projects in response to the customers’ needs for solutions.
• Ensure complete understanding of project requirements, suggesting method of compliance, agreeing design parameters and the business responsibilities.
• Off meeting and contract life-cycle reviews.
• Create contract documentation using AutoCAD Inventor, through use of i-Logic and Parameterised standard model to drive contract-specific design to suit client specification.
• Create manufacturing package for handover to procurement and manufacturing teams.
• Perform Value Engineering exercises.
• Develop and maintains technical and commercial awareness.
• Provide technical assistance to both external and internal customers.

• The ability to manage within a dynamic project environment matching the requirements of the customer (internal/external) with profit objectives of the business.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Good time-management, personal management, decision-making skills and IT literacy.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must have AutoCAD Inventor knowledge particular emphasis to i-Logic and parameterisation.
• Desirable skill – SAP.
• An understanding of project management, general engineering and business administration.

Requirements

• HND/HNC qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline.

This role requires a self-motivated individual that absorbs information and has a desire to learn and grow. As such, the role requires good alpha-numeric skills, IT competency, the ability to ‘think outside the box’ and, above all, dedication, hard work and self-discipline. You will be able to demonstrate an understanding of engineering within a project management and design business.

You should also be able to demonstrate effective communication skills both verbally and written, across project teams, clients and contractors and the ability to manage changing objectives in a dynamic environment.
