Java Developer

Description

Are you a collaborative and forward thinking Java and Integration developer, keen to build upon and develop their experience while working in a forward thinking team?

After an exciting period of digital transformation, we are working with a growing company based in Edinburgh.

What will you be doing?

· Producing quality code-based artefacts using the laid down documented standards
· Contributing to design discussions and continuous improvement of development standards
· Communicating project issues in a timely manner
· Participating and contribute to agile ceremonies and maintain agile tasks

What do we look for?

· Good Java 8 knowledge and OOA/D
· Proven experience delivering complex systems on time and budget
· Understanding of JEE toolset
· JPA Experience and Entity Modelling concerns
· Good working SQL knowledge
· Previous experience with MS SQL SERVER or other RDMS
· Build tools (Maven, Jenkins etc.)
· Strong working knowledge of SDLC
· Knowledge of Git
· Experience of TDD
· Knowledge of Linux AWS environments
· Experience of active participation in development planning to ensure maintainability / supportability
· EIP Patterns – Apache Camel
· Experience of requirements decomposition techniques
· Linux skills

Desirable experience.

· Deployment Automation Tools
· Experience in cloud-based systems
· Knowledge of Open source tools and specific concerns relating to these
· Experience with some of the following tools
o Eclipse
o Web containers
o Camel
o JMS / AMQP
o Kubernetes, Docker
