Assistant Janitor

We are currently recruiting for Assistant Janitors to work within local authority educational establishments throughout Fife. If you are dedicated and take great pride in your job we are looking for you.

Key responsibilities of an Assistant Janitor:

* You will work as part of a team and report directly to the Janitor
* Open and secure educational establishments and grounds at prescribed times
* Maintaining the security of premises
* To provide a School Crossing Service
* Undertake prescribed cleaning procedures
* Ensure all bodily fluid/spillages are dealt with
* Respond to emergency call-outs
* Undertake regular testing of fire/lighting and heating systems

Assistant Janitor requirements – Essential:

* Cleaning experience
* Willingness to undertake enhanced training
* Security awareness
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Be a good team player
* Ability to provide a regular and effective service
* Have the ability to travel to various locations
* Be a new or existing PVG member, update required at a cost to yourself

Assistant Janitor requirements – Desirable:

* Practical DIY skills
* Experience and ability to deal with people at all levels
* Written communication skills
* British Institute of Science certification
* Knowledge of Health and Safety at work
* Current driving licence
