Principal Engineer (DaS Cloud Services)

ASA’s public sector client is seeking a Principal Engineer to join the expanding Cloud Engineering team within their Digital and Security (DaS) Strategic Business Unit who support various public services across Scotland. The expansion is driven by an exciting transformation as part of the DaS platform modernisation programme developing a world class Enterprise cloud capability to meet the increasing demand for digital services to services our customers throughout Scotland.

Responsibilities:
· Application Development on Azure
· Platform Automation and DevOps on Azure
· Technical leadership in architecture, development and deployment of Azure based solutions
· Develop IP, best practices and knowledge assets to be re-usable and shared
· Embed DevOps practices and automation into delivery
· Actively contribute to a culture of high performance, innovation and continuous improvement

Requirements:
· Hands on experience in developing and deploying enterprise solutions, with Microsoft technology stack preferred
· Hands on experience in designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure platform
· Experience with public cloud platforms, including design and implementation
· Appropriate certifications in Azure and associated technologies (desirable)
· Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services, including understanding their capabilities and limitations and being able to architect and deliver solutions leveraging various Azure platform services
· Experience in implementing applications using cloud platforms
· Experienced in working in agile/devops environment with continuous integration and continuous deployment and application lifecycle management
· Experience working with the following toolsets (or similar)
o Jenkins o Gitlab
o Terraform o Windows Server
