Are you an experienced Developer looking to take on a contract opportunity within a prestigious large scale project in the public sector?

ASA are looking for a Developer to join the public sector in Glasgow. This contract opportunity would be perfect for an individual who could support an existing small national programme team working on the implementation of the client’s national HR system.

The Developer Role:

This role sits within the data migration work stream and focuses on the continual development of our bespoke data migration solution based on MS SQL ETL environment; shadow copies of source data systems; complex data quality and validation processes; static and dynamic data mapping; test and live data migration processes into third party operated Oracle eBusiness Suite staging tables and data load processes; supporting end-user inputs to data mapping, validation and test processes; reporting; and working with live system team.

Successful candidates for the Developer role will require:

• Educated to Diploma/Degree level in an IT related subject or equivalent practical experience in this field
• Both theoretical and practical experience of database structures gained through achieving a relevant diploma or degree and/or previous practical workplace experience
• Recognised accreditation’s / qualifications in the systems/environments used, e.g. MS SQL
• 5 – 8 years practical experience in the specification, development and implementation of database systems (within a public or private service environment)
• A theoretical knowledge of IT systems architecture gained through past implementations of product sets
• Specialist knowledge of technical aspects of systems; hardware, database, software and hardware integration environments and associated knowledge of legislation, best practices and procedures surrounding IT
• Experience of supporting and developing large-scale, multi-site IT systems
• Working experience of a wide range of technologies, including Oracle DB, Oracle eBusiness Suite, PL/SQL, Visual Basic Scripting, MS SQL
