Mechanical Design Draughtsperson

ASA Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Draughtsperson for their Aberdeen based client.

Role :

Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team the role would suit an experienced Mechanical Design Draughtsperson and will involve providing drafting and design support to the mechanical team on new and existing surface equipment and downhole tools.

Duties :

* Design of mechanical components and systems.
* Generate CAD models and drawings.
* Generate engineering documentation (procedures, reports etc).
* Perform quality checks of engineering drawings and documents.
* Perform test build and prototype testing of new equipment.
* Advise on ordering of equipment for new tools and development work.
* Preparing specifications including costs and materials estimates.
* Participate in design reviews.
* Support internal and external customers on technical queries.
* Maintain design files and related documentation.
* Support operations by working at client sites.
* Providing quality checks on incoming drawings from external contractors, ensuring company standards are followed.

Knowledge & Experience :

* HNC or HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
* CAD and PDM application skills (Autodesk Inventor and Vault).
* Experience of mechanical components and mechanisms.
* Attention to detail and complex problem solving skills.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience :

* Experience of downhole tool design and development experience.
* Stress analysis calculation skills.
* Experience using Mathcad.
