Our client in Aberdeen are recruiting for an Intelligence Researcher on a temporary basis until March 2020. The role is to provide analytical support to the organisation in relation to Food Crime by utilising research databases, online open sources and other research tools. The postholder will be expected to assist in the production of analytical products, briefing documents and general assistance to the Intelligence Team in the development of intelligence
The typical working week will be 37 hours ( Monday to Friday ) with a day rate based on an annual salary of £25,367 PAYE plus holiday accrual
Specific duties of the role:
* Support and undertake research duties as directed in the production of analytical products, collection, recording, analysis and dissemination of criminal intelligence and other relevant information
* Prepare bulletins, briefings, etc., in relation to identified threats, risks and other related issues, for the benefit of internal and, where necessary, external stakeholders
* Support the production of high quality intelligence packages that are comprehensive, timely and capable of being actioned
* Undertake training deemed relevant for the role
* Build and maintain effective working relationships, particularly in relation to information sharing with key stakeholders
* Provide support on Food Crime intelligence matters for internal and external stakeholders
* Comply with policy and guidance concerning issues of diversity and discrimination and provide direction and support to staff in this regard
* Ensure day to day security, safety, maintenance and updating of all records is undertaken
* Attend meetings where necessary with key stakeholders
* Ensure that information and intelligence is stored, managed, accessed and disseminated in accordance with the appropriate data protection legislation and guidance and other relevant operating procedures
* Undertake other duties consistent with the post as directed by supervisors
Essential criteria of postholder:
* Substantial role-related experience in intelligence research activities within a law enforcement or intelligence agency environment
* Excellent understanding and substantial role-related use of the National Intelligence Model, including delivering intelligence products
* Substantial role-related experience in a law enforcement type environment, in the processing and dissemination of intelligence reports, the collation and appropriate sharing of bulletins, briefings, etc., for the benefit of internal and, where necessary, external stakeholders
* Experience of managing substantial personal workloads with minimum supervision; prioritising and meeting tight deadlines and able to evidence self-motivation, working within a team and on own initiative, often under considerable time pressure
The postholder will be required to hold a current Basic Disclosure and be willing to undergo BPSS checking
