Content Editor (Intranet)

Description

Are you a skilled Content Editor with public sector experience? We are seeking an Intranet Content Editor for a new and exciting project in Edinburgh. Working alongside the Project Manager, Intranet Business Lead and Project Support Officer, you will support the creation, re-development and migration of content from the existing intranet to the new SharePoint Online platform. Starting at the end of January, this contract will run on until the end of September 2020.

Duties include:

· Supporting the Intranet Business Lead with an audit of intranet copy on WordPress
· Supporting the Intranet Business Lead and stakeholders in the rationalisation, creation or re-development of content that adheres to editorial guidelines, fully accessible and on-brand
· Supporting the Intranet Business Lead in keyword research, SEO strategies and best practices for the intranet, ensuring that meta-data is adhered to and implemented by Content Editors and is consistent across the board
· Working with the Project team to migrate existing intranet content (possibly through a 3rd party software application)

Essential:

· Strong background in a content creation and/or editorial role
· Knowledge of content management systems, ideally SharePoint Online
· An understanding of online writing procedures, such as brand/editorial style, content structure, accessibility, and Search Engine Optimisation
· Experience of working in a project and team environment
· Experience of working on an intranet or website migration or development project
· Ability to take on responsibility and use initiative to prioritise and work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
