Data Education Project Officer

Description

Our client within the public sector in Edinburgh is looking for a Data Education Project Officer. This is an initial 3 month contract starting in January 2020 with a potential to be extended.

You would be part of a world-leading project that will bring data science education to school-aged learners for the first time.

The purpose of this interim role is to support the development of inspiring materials. Support professional learning and establish knowledge sharing schools that will develop local expertise.

Essential skills required:
– Expertise in data-science related areas, i.e. coding, information handling, data analysis and visualisation.
– Experience in developing curriculum and teaching resources related to data science and/or have the enthusiasm to learn this.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of audiences including young people.
– Ability to break down complex subjects into smaller and more easily understood chunks and be able to communicate these effectively both orally and visually.

Desirable skills required:
– Teaching experience within primary or secondary schools.

Please note this role may require a PVG Disclosure and core hours of 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
